Default Is this maybe another Nero 6.6 error?

I just upgraded to Nero 6.6.0.1 and now I have no sound. I do have audio
when I watch TV with ATI 7500 but not with WMP or Nero Mix or Wave Editor.
This on an XP Pro SP1 system with SB Audigy. The hardware wizard shows the
mic and playback works but still no playback of any other sound files. Has
anyone had this problem related to Nero? Any known way to restore other than
removing Nero or sound card and reinstall?

TIA

The same thing happened to me about 18 months ago. I have never used nero
since. Sound was gone all except power dvd. Uninstalling nero didn't restore
the sound. Restoring to a previous registry or restore point fixed the
problem.

So what you are saying is that Nero is the problem. I was not sure if it
was that or WMP 10. I am also getting a strange error when I use Audigy
Hardware Wizard. If I select 5.1 speaker configuration I get a blue screen
saying windows has shut down to prevent damage. Refers to a file I can not
interpret.

WMP 10 could very well be the source of the problems as there are many
posts on WMP 10 conflicts in MS newsgroup. Try uninstall and go back to
WMP 9:

Go to Add/Remove and check the little box at the top for "Show updates",
then scroll down and you will find WMP 10.

(You may have to disable system restore, but don't forget to enable it
again.)
