DVD Drives and multisession DVD's
.. --------------------------------------
Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- Jack, Hammond wrote: Are there and DVD Writers that fully support multisession, with say DVD+ RW/DVD+R Writing..? From what I have read it not supported in the DVD reading specs.. Think all DVD burners and softwares made since 2002 all support multi-session (multi-border). Note: DVD_RW remains single session even after sessions are added, that is, there is only one pair of lead-in/-out. This is the consequence of first deleting lead-out (border-out) before a session is added. For laughs: ----------- Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (ezcd/tao/dao) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (only dao) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (multi-GB) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (Ezcd-No) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (yes-no) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (pioneer) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (Nero) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (standard) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (erratic) Mike Richter's Cockamamie Mumbo Jumbo on DVD Multisession (inconsistencies)(iii) ================================================== ==== Mike Richter (The Slimiest Lying Friggin SOB) crapped (10/5/04): In my limited experience, multisession on ISO 9660 DVD-ROM is unsupported, poorly supported or inconsistent in both writers and software. Have you found the documentation, Slimeball? Mikey (8/10/04): "Documentation for this is still sparse or missing altogether" Have you found the standard, Slimeball? Mikey (9/8/04): "I've not found any standard for multisession DVD-ROM in ISO 9660 style." I've not tried UDF for it, but in general recommend using CD for multisession (where it is well defined and well implemented) and reserving ISO 9660 DVD-ROM for single session (the only option offered by Nero). Nero is one of the first softwares that support multisession on DVD. Stop spreading lies, Slimeball! ================================================== ==== ---------------------------------------------- Mikey, you are The Slimiest Lying Friggin SOB! ---------------------------------------------- Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- (Mike Richter, any Material Connection w/ Roxio?) |
