From what I have read it not supported in the DVD reading specs..

Think all DVD burners and softwares made since 2002 all support
multi-session (multi-border).

Note: DVD_RW remains single session even after sessions are added, that
is, there is only one pair of lead-in/-out. This is the consequence of
first deleting lead-out (border-out) before a session is added.

unsupported, poorly supported or inconsistent in both writers and
software.

I've not tried UDF for it, but in general recommend using CD
for multisession (where it is well defined and well implemented)
and

reserving ISO 9660 DVD-ROM for single session
(the only option offered by Nero).

Nero is one of the first softwares that support multisession on DVD.
