HP pavilion dv6436nr AMD issue...

Hello everyone....i bought this hp pavilion laptop and it has the amd
turion x2 processor....and i have installed the 32bit windows xp..I
was told that there are some patches that makes windows use both
processors even though it is the 32 bit..Because the processor of the
laptop is 1.8 x2=3.6 but windows only uses the 1.8..I tried to
download some patches from the amd site but i was missing the file
"amdtools.sys" and i couldnt find it anywhere...Can anyone help me out
please??

You have mixed up a lot of concepts. Having a dual-core processor
doesn't mean that you have double the Mhz. So a 1.8Ghz doesn't become
3.6Ghz. Second it doesn't matter if you have a 32-bit or a 64-bit
version of Windows XP, they are both able to make use of dual-cores
without any problem.

So you really have no problem. If you don't believe me, then go to
Start-Run and type in "taskman" and go to the Performance tab. You'll
see two processor graphs there. It means XP is seeing both cores.

An easier alternative,
- right click on the taskbar (long grey bar usually at the bottom of
your screen where the Start button and Time display are)
- select 'Task Manager' from the menu that pops up. Task Manager will
appear
- select 'Performance' from one of the tabs near the top of the Task
Manager.

I've had encountered numerous incidents helping people which involved
start-run and nothing happens. Guess why? =P

And even then they could only see one graph if by some chance Task
Manager is set to view only one CPU Graph.

oh ... i see..you know i leave in a really small village in Greece
where people dont use computers all that much...so to be honest i am
not so familiar with amd dual cores...and i had no idea windows was
able to use both cores....thank you for your time....
