BSoD: inaccessible_boot_device
Hmm I dont' know if it is a MBR virus but I hit this BSoD on a W2K box.
Previously the computer was just running normal - and it freezes. After reboot it just BSoD. So now what is an easy way to clean it? I heard about reboot and use format /mbr but how do I boot up the system first? W2K disks doesn't really contain 'format' or does it? For gosh sake this is not the first time in my home. However after I was infected last time I scanned every single piece of file on all computers but nothing is found. What could be it??? Thanks. Ernest |

BSoD: inaccessible_boot_device
fdisk /mbr I think it was. If you boot the install disk,
I think you can just get to C:\ and run chkdsk. If you can't see the c-drive at all, then you probably have bad spots on your hard drive. Best then to get a new drive, and slave the old one to it. Lot of times you can pull your data off that way. johns |
