Newegg.com = Buyer Beware!
2 problems you may encounter when buying from Newegg
- poorly packaged product, meaning no proper supports, so the HD doesn't get
thrashed around in shipping!
- end up with an OEM, when you were getting retail -- difference being don't
expect manufacture to RMA it!

....

Sam:

I'm not affiliated with www.newegg.com in any way, but I've been a happy customer of
theirs for a number of years.

In my experience, Newegg's packaging has been adequate for everything I've purchased
from them. The only item I've ever purchased from them that didn't work when I
received it was a OEM hard drive. I had no problem RMA'ing it to Newegg.

As for your second point, one of the reasons I like Newegg is that they are careful
to indicate whether a product is Retail or OEM in their descriptions. Plus the pictures
they provide of every product clearly do not show retail packaging if the part is
OEM. All the retail parts I've purchased from Newegg, on the other hand, have shown
the retail packaging.

That said, everyone makes mistakes at some time. Check your order confirmation and
invoice. If you really ordered a retail part, give them a call. I'd be surprized if
they didn't fix
the problem immediately.

Good luck,
