CD-Rom problem

running xp. hate a lite rite cd RW, has been running find
but suddenly one day it disappeared in my computer.
It works and takes in a disk but xp does not see it.
actually I got one of those yellow exclamation points and error message says

windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot
find the hardware device. (Code 41)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.( yeah right
like these troubleshooters ever really work)

any suggestions on how to solve this problem

This happened to me, is a common issue with XP, follow the directions below
and it'll work again:
