Default Intel P9700 versus E8000, T900 processor architecture

Hello,

Could anyone please explain the difference between the

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P9700 with Enhanced Intel SpeedStep
Technology

and the older E8000, T9000 processors which Intel has published in its
free
assembly language programming books?

Thanks,

John Goche

According to here http://ark.intel.com/Default.aspx the first is a flavour
of Core 2 Duo MOBILE while the E8xxx series are for desktop use and T9000
back to mobile again. If you click the various links, the website gives full
details for each CPU. Note that these mobile CPUs are not interchangeable
with an E8xxx CPU because the sockets are different (along with probably
many other aspects).
