Default Connecting two 2405s to one Dimension

I have a Dimension 9100 with a 2405 and a standard monitor connected.
Working fine. I would like to see about replacing the standard monitor with
a second 2405. The video card that comes standard with the 9100 has one
digital and one standard video connector. I would like to know if either of
the following is possible:

- Replace the video card with one that has two digital video connections.

- Purchase a splitter cable that goes from one digital video connector to
two.

Option No. 2 is the simpler, no doubt. If I go that route, will I still be
able to create an extended desktop and manage Display 1 and 2? In other
words, will Windows see the two monitors as kosher when they are connected
from a splitter?

Option 3...just connect the second monitor using the VGA connection.

Many thanks. I didn't even realize that the 2405 offered a VGA input; it
might be helpful if I actually explored the back of the unit, eh? g

What do I give up running a second unit through standard VGA? What might I
notice?

There really isn't a DVI splitter, at least reasonably priced. You
would NOT be able to use extended desktop.

Try connecting the second one through VGA. The 2405 is pretty good with
VGA. You might be happy with it.

Of course, the 2405 has been discontinued (for awhile now). I have a
2405 and 2407 (but I have a dual DVI card).
