Default PSU / Mobo question

Okay, I just installed a new PSU, my old one only had a 20-pin power to
motherboard plug, even if my motherboard supports a 24-pin. (a8n-sli
premium) Would that have caused any problems?

Also, on my mobo has an EZPlug that the manual states you should connect a
standard 4-pin power connector to it if you are running SLI, would there be
any harm/benefit to plug it in if I am only running one GPU right now?
