Default Low end repairs

I'm interested in a source for manuals and parts for low end HP
printers. I've got broken units such as LJ 1300 and Fax 1020xi. It's
not worth it to spend a hundred dollars an hour plus parts to have them
repaired by an authorized service person. I buy maintenance kits and
service the larger printers myself, but HP won't let you see a service
manual or spare parts list for these little ones. It's almost as if
they want you to throw them out.

Thank you for your help.

They have the 1300 manual at least, manuals are free from them.
You can also buy manuals from www.manuals4you.com and other places.

HP has parts available from http://partsurfer.hp.com - I just checked and the
Laserjet 1300 parts are listed there with exploded diagrams and pricing
information.

That's quite a handy little thing there, I've bookmarked that.

It has my aging IIIp listed as well.

Funnily enough I dug it out last night (it says manufactured 1992 on the
back) turned it on, bunged some paper in and it printed out the two self
test pages fine. Shame really that the main board on my IIp died. I
preferred that, as it had a proper paper tray, when it died I did
consider looking at trying to remove its tray to add to the IIIp.
