Default Is it 32 GB limit or...?

Is it a single or master? It makes a difference with the WDs if you have
a single drive and leave it with the master pins enabled. It will hang
and fail to be found at least 9 times out of 10. If it is the only drive
on the chain then put the pins sideways across two master and single
pins.

And as usuall: old mainboard (440BX from Acorp, PentiumII, AD 1998) +
new drive (WD400, AD 2003) = troubles. The BIOS does not see any HDD
when performs AUTO-detection. Actually, it is even worse: the computer
hangs during auto detection, so only the reset button works.
