Default hard drive noises!

Hi all,

My hard drive seems to make a few clicking noise just before it freezes.
Once it froze, the HDD light stays on. I give my Case a small slap on the
side and the HDD clicks again and sometime goes back to normal and at time
it gives me an error like this * BCResident, Unable to get procedure
address. * should it need a low level format or the HDD is slowly letting
go? Thanks.

It's almost certainly dying. Start backing up your essential stuff asap.

Lane Lewis enlightened us all with these words of wisdom:

Run the manufacturers test.

snip

Only after backing things up ASAP. If it's an IBM, do it quickly, it hasn't
got long.
