Radeon 9600SE vs 9600
Hey all,
Does anyone have any links to help me tell the diff between the 9600SE and 9600 cards from site? Want to make sure I don't get conned. I assume due to the diff memory bus size, there is probably diff arrangement of RAM, as was with the 9500, certain versions of the 9800SE 'line' etc. |

But thanks anyway Half of the memory chip places are empty, leaving half of the 128bit memory bus unused. SE version also does not have cooling fan, only heatsink. Standard 9600 cards may or may not have a fan, Pro models always have a fan... -- ***Risto*** ================== Ubi est actio hic? ================== |

But thanks anyway The 9600se doesn't have or require a FAN on its heat sink... so as a PLUS, its makes no noise. (At lease with the ATI brand) Heres some performance marks: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1933&p=2 You'll see the nasty details... Its okay for a sub $100... -- Remember when real men used Real computers!? When 512K of video RAM was a lot! Death to Palladium & WPA!! |
