Default Compatibility Athlon XP / Epox 8KTA3+ motherboard

This will help you out...

http://www.upgradeware.com/english/p...ptmc/xptmc.htm

According to the manufacturer of my Epox 8KTA3+ motherboard
(http://www.epox.nl/info/cpu_list.pdf) only "Athlon C" up to 1400 is
*recommended*. Problem is "Athlon C" is not sold anymore and I would like to
go over 2Ghz.

Does this mean that the motherboard is *totally incompatible* with Athlon
XP?
If not what would be the best CPU I could use?
Has anyone tried an upgrade on this board with an Athlon XP
