Default How can I auto-back-up onto a separate drive?

Can anyone help? For security reasons I want to be able to auto back
up every time I save in whatever application I happen to be using, and
I want to do this onto a remote hard drive connected via the usb port.
I am using WinXP.

Do I need separate software to make thid possible, if so any
suggestions?

I cannot think of anything specific to your situation, but what I would
suggest is a RAID system. I am assuming that "security reasons" refers to
data integrity? (IE: if your primary HDD fails, you have a copy). If this
is the case, installing a raid card into your system (on it 2 identical
drives in a mirror configuration) and ghost your current HDD onto the
virtual drive, this would accomplish this.

A RAID is basically for this purpose. In this configuration (RAID1 I
believe), it is made so that if 1 HDD fails, you replace it and can sync the
2 of them.

If you mean something else by "security reasons", please elaborate so I may
provide a more suitable response.
