Default SmartRestore uses first hidden partition

I found out Packard Bell SmartRestore software uses the hidden
recovering partition to handle programs, e.g. Norton 360 and others
preinstalled programs.
Do you know if I can remove SmartRestore for cleaning Windows Vista
installation ? Or can I clone the only system partition of WinVista,
removing hidden recovering partition, making sure smartrestore can
work ?
