Just installed an abit IS7 mobo and....
After installing the abit IS7 mobo everything seems to start okay, but then
when it is time for the windows xp splash screen, it shows for about 1/10th of a second and the system restarts (just as if I had hit the reset button). It has done this multiple times despite trying various settings in the BIOS set-up. I am running: Windows XP Pro Intel P4 2.8E Prescott 1024 Megs of ram Any thougts on why this is happening? Do I need a BIOS update? thanks. |

Neat trick since he can't boot to make that KB article stuff work!
bg Q: did you install XP *after* switching the MB, or before? If before, you may well have to re-install XP. Despite the fact that MS doesn't recommend it (and neither do I), you can install multiple copies of XP on the same drive as a test. Did you find a solution for this? I am having the same problem -- xp splash
shows for about a second, then a quick blue screen, then it reboots. thanks. "bobjones" wrote in message news:Qx4%c.130491$X12.66394@edtnps84...
