Default AV drives for PVR's?

Anybody have tried any AV-geared SATA drives for use with PVR's? I am
finding that one drive I have right now is starting to show signs of
skipping a lot. I'm thinking of the WD AV-GP drives, mainly. Possibly in
the range from 500GB to higher.

You will have problems as part of the OS is stored on the drive, unless
the maker can give you the OS image..

Oh, that's not a problem, there is a small internal drive for that,
which I'm not touching. This is the external drive attached via eSATA.
