Default QVC and Dell mini netbook

was flipping channels and came across QVC tonight
as they were having "Dell computers"... so I stopped and looked.

They were selling the new Dell mini with the 8" screen
in black or white...

Wonder - is being on QVC a good marketing thing or bad omen ??

like any retailer they buy a job lot and then sell them
on...........sometimes cheaper sometimes not so. If its a current model then
there should be no problems.

It's a *great* marketing thing.

QVC and Dell have had a relationship for a number of years. It's just
another channel for them to sell computers. QVC sells a lot of anything
they hawk. We went on a tour of their studios one day and they said that
if you don't sell at least $10,000 USD a *MINUTE* you don't come back.

I've compared their packages to buying direct from Dell and they are
usually very competitive. The trick is in evaluating the "bundling" that
they do, since you can't customize it at all.

One big point is that there is a 30 day, no questions asked, return policy.

Bottom line, it's a very good thing for Dell. They make tons of money
and that's a good thing... ;-)

Not really. Their relationship is a lot more than a "job lot" one. Dell,
like many retailers that sell on QVC, will bring bundles and packages
that are customized for sale on QVC. This is more than a dumping ground
for Dell. They make *TONS* of money using this channel....
