Tech support?? nc8230 laptop??

I am shortly going to need to replace a Dell laptop and am thinking of
the Compq nc8230. It is one of the business line laptops.

I have grown disappointed with Dell service, but haven't used a Compaq
for about five years and wondered if their has also declined badly. Any
comments on the nc8230 would be appreciated as well.

I can't comment on the nc8230, but in my opinion, the exceptional
technical support Compaq used to offer started going downhill shortly
after HP bought them out. There is no longer any distinction between
Compaq and HP support; it's probably not as good as Dell's. Again,
just my opinion based on my own support experiences with both.
