Gateway Solo 9100 e4 upgrade HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I noticed that u posted on dejanews about your solo 9100 laptop u were
upgrading... here is original message..........


Just got around to upgrading my hand-me-down Solo 9100 E4.0 with C&T
video, 14.1 lcd..

Got a used E7.9 chassis with Trident video and dvd card/drive, etc.
Well, I had to keep my old power board (new one had blown cap) and had
to resolder the VGA port and microphone.. (Damn Ebay purchases!!)

Ok.. So now I have a 9100 7.9 MB, trident video, new PII 333 chip and
my
5 gig HD. Boots fine.. Memory fine. Video fine.. Won't recognize
HD..
It spins up ok, but bios does not see it..

I am now thinking of putting back my E4.0 MB but keeping the Trident
video and PII 333 chip.. The motherboards seemed very similar, with
same connectors and bios brand.

Does anyone know if this will work??? Also, the update bios files
are
specifically for E4.0/14.1 an separate files for higher than 4.0...
Will the higher bios files work with my 4.0 MB with trident video??

What I was wondering is:

Has anyone put a Gateway 2000 Solo 9100 Laptop e.40 back together..
and if ya did, did the 333 CPU work with it... I have looked around
for new CPU's for mine ( mine has a 266 in it... I was looking on a
site that says 233 and above need e6 or above.... is this true do u
know?) Did your 333 work in there, do u know what the max processor
speed for that e4 board is.. I have seen Solo 400mhz cpus for 9100,
but they all say ( from 233-400 that they need at least e6) which is
wierd, I have an e4 that is 266. Here is the URL for the processors
