Default

I tried using the secondary ide port as Groove suggested ... thought I
would try that before going to the freezer ... machine booted right up

Plugged it back into the primary ide port .. booted right up again.

Plugged the cd-rw back into the secondary ide port and the maching hung
at drive in POST .. like it was doing

Tried the hd using the cable from the cd-rw .. booted right up ..
Checked the power voltage at the cd-rw plug ... good

both ports good, both cables good, I would say that the cd-rw is bad.
At least, it only boots up when the cd-rw is disconnected.

It is an Acer 8x4x32

Thank you
