The P4 socket 478 CPU clip
I broke the clip that firmly keeps the heat sink to the cpu. Stupid
instructions are not very detailed, I realized only after that I should press down in the middle to expand it so that it will fit into the motherboard frame holes. Anyway do stores sell this clip? How much does it cost? |

Anyway do stores sell this clip? How much does it cost? Check EBay. I bought one for a customer there. Intel refer to it as a retention unit. I presume that's what you mean. Like the one in the pic he http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...sPageName=WD1V |

I think its called the clip assembly, on this diagram letter E and G is
pointing to what I need (the shaded in thingie), you are suggesting I need the square that is on the motherboard which I don't need. ftp://download.intel.com/support/pro...s/p4p478_1.pdf |
