locked barton 2800+ chips
Italy Anonymous Remailer, you say...
Bought a 2800+ that is locked. Using an Asus A7N8X deluxe board with crucial PC3200 memory. If I change the multiplier in the bios to ANYTNING (higher) than 12.5 I cannot get it to POST and I have to crack the case and reset the CMOS clearing jumpers to get it to boot (166x12.5 is factory setting for the 2800+). I'd like to run 200x10.5 like others are doing with older 2800+ chips. Has anyone tried this: http://www20.tomshardware.com/cpu/20...barton-06.html Is there another way to unlock these damn things? Before unlocking why not make the best of what you got, up vcore and vdimm, and slowly up your fsb, see where it stops,.. maybe you'll get it stable at 12.5x200 !! Anyway if you want to unlock the bartons check this http://tinyurl.com/ytadr -- Ugh! |

Just boost your FSB (I have mine at 200) and your Vcore (mine at 1.75v) and then probably your Vdimm and you'll have a screamer.... Larry |

It just pulls the 5th mulyiplier bit high. Is there another way to unlock these damn things? Not a good one. You can change it to a mobile cpu then use power now, but it's not something I would do. If you can't change the multiplier, raise the FSB to 176 for 2200MHz. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.html |
