Default ABIT AX5 MOTHERBOARD

I got a computer given to me. It has an Abit AX5 mobo. I can get it
to boot with a bootable floppy. It won't recognize any thing on an
IDE cable in either IDE port (i.e. the hard drive, cd-rom, etc.) Off
of the floppy I ran a BIOS identification program and it reported that
either my powersupply or CMOS is no good. I replaced the CMOS battery
with a known good one. The system boots to the floppy so I assume the
power supply is good. I want to flash the BIOS but I have no clue as
to the BIOS string in order to provide a correct BIOS flash. I
believe the BIOS to be bad and it is giving the system mixed messages.
There is no BIOS string on the screen during boot other than it is an
Award Bios V.1.0
but no ID string. Can anyone help me here?? Thanx for any help.
