Default Question - Laser Cut Case Sides

Question - what kind of demand do you think there would be for personalized
case mods where you could have your name/nickname cut in the side of your
computer case? What do you think people would pay for this?

I ask because I have access to a laser cutting table at work and I am good
at CAD. I started converting some cool designs but they took too much work
to do and I ultimately couldn't decide on one. In the end I took a
futuristic font and converted and cut my CS nick in the side. In another
font I wrote/cut "AMD Inside."

For practice we cut one on a piece of brushed stainless that was totally
cool - my case had some burn errors from the laser but with touch-up it
looks good as well.

All in all it is a unique mod which looks very cool and I think others would
like to do it. But how much would people be willing to pay? I wouldn't
want to gouge them but it does take a lot of time and effort to do.

Any thoughts apprec.

Hmm... I dunno... if you buy a cheap case w/o power supply which costs about
30$ ( at least in Croatia where I live) and paint it approx. in some colour
4$. Then you add approx. 30$ for your work. It comes out to be 60$ - 70$
that how much a Chieftech case cost in Croatia).

Personaly I could live with it.....

Thank you for your reply -

I think you misunderstand the mod I am considering doing - but at the same
time you made me think of a good point. If I plan to mod your case - that
is - the case you have now you would need to send it to me in the US. That
is not practical. So instaed I should also have a standard case on hand
that I can include for those people that want them.

To clarify, the mod is actually cutting holes/patterns into the case using
cool fonts. You would put lexan or acrylic behind the case and the light
would shine through.

Try selling "custom cut cases" on ebay. Sell a few, should give you a idea
what people will be willing to pay. Let me know how it goes. ACAD RULES!
