Card with only DVI (DVI to VGA question)

I saw an MX440 64mb 8x agp card on ebay for a really good price. The only
thing is, it doesn't have a VGA output. It has a DVI and the seller is
including an adapter to plug onto the DVI out so that I can hook my VGA
monitor to it. My question, will using this adapter in any way affect the
picture quality on my 17" monitor? Or should I just spring for a card with
a VGA out on it?

Sorry, forgot to mention that the card's a nvidia Geforce4.

Stay away - Geforce4 MXs are pretty much Geforce2s in disguise.
