Default which way do cmos batteries go in?

Is the convention positive side up, with the negative side on the mobo?

What happens if you put it in backwards?

I think it's the large surface area side up.


What happens if you put it in backwards?


It won't work.

Yep.

What happens if you put it in backwards?

YMMV - nothing or destroyed components/battery.
