Default Burning text and graphics onto bottom of a CD

Anyone remember a few years ago there was software that would let you
burn images or text onto the free space of a CDR so when you looked at
the bottom of the disk you could see them? What happened to this
software? I have looked all over the place and can not find even a
single reference to it.

Yamaha DiscT@2
Only Nero supported the feature.
Yamaha withdrew from the CD-R/RW business in 3/03.

Went to the big bit bucket in the sky with the Yamaha drive that was the
only one that would do that trick

This drive you speak of is the Yamaha CRW-F1 CDRW Writer. I still own
and use it as it provides a pretty good, relatively fast write to CD.

The technology asked about is called Disc T@2. The idea was that it
would create text/graphics on the non-recorded part of the bottom of
the disc. Unfortunately, you could only use the version of Nero that
shipped with the unit to utilize the feature - and the feature didn't
work worth a damn. You could never see what you went to so much
trouble to create.

It was a sham. I bought the recorder because of a really decent sale
price and it's speed - not because of this supposed perk. Had I
bought it solely because it could put images on the back of the CDR I
would have felt royally ripped off.
