If you don't have one, then contact who ever sets up your computers. If that's you, then you need to learn about IP addresses and how they are asssigned and used. But to answer your question, yes, you can change the ip address of any machine that you have access to as long long as you have rights to. If you are connecting to a broadband network via dhcp, then you will need a gateway, or seperate static IP's for both machines to work at the same time. IOW's, you didn't provide enough info to determine the solution. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm |

If they are both set up for that then there's a problem in the netgear router or there's something that needs to be set on each wireless cord. I don't do windows or wireless. If all else fails, switch to static IPs for both machines. As an example since I always use static. Netgear router gateway IP 192.168.0.1 Desktop IP 192.168.0.2 machine 2 192.168.0.3 machine 3 etc. Most routers will also allow a range of DHCP addresses, like 192.168.0.100-253. Check your router manual. Netmask should be 255.255.255.0 And you'll need to assign DNS addresses on each machine. That's your IP's (Internet providers) DNS addresses. -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm |

i am the system admin, also i set this up myself, i think there is something
wrong with the firmware as this is only happening when WPA-PSK is selected in the wireless security. "Wes Newell" wrote in message newsan.2004.04.23.06.27.54.629825@TAKEOUTverizon .net...
