They are notorious for selling continental kit, i.e. no English
instructions and no UK power cable.

Yes, it's continental, and they supplied a socket (because the cable's
French). But yes, they're grey importers, which is why they're
sometimes (though I'm sure not always) significantly cheaper than UK
vendors. And there are risks in that: probably Casio (or whoever)
aren't likely to be so helpful in resolving any problems. (Free
European market be damned, I suppose.)

I can completely understand why someone might not want to buy from
them, but it made sense for me.

Oh, and they are a French company ;-)

Well, that doesn't worry me too much. (After all, I occasionally buy
things from US companies.)
