3 beeps
When booting I get 3 evenly spaced beeps.
Is this a "failure in the first 64k"? If so, any hope. The mobo is a lexington3, 2.66GHZp4 @ 533mhz - 1gig rdram. Thanks to all in advance. |

That's what the beep coding means. It refers to the first 64Kb of system
memory which is located on the motherboard I would guess. Don't know how that can be fixed. "Ablizz" wrote in message ... When booting I get 3 evenly spaced beeps. See if you can locate more specifics on that particular motherboard
for beep codes. I would suspect Memory of video card. Reseat both several times. Then swap out one piece at a time. -- Jupiter Jones Check the following link for some great problem solving newsgroups. http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ "Ablizz" wrote in message ... If the memory is new, it's either faulty or incompatible. If it's been in
the system for a while, try reseating it in the sockets. If that doesn't work, replace the RAM. Unfortunately, RDRAM must be installed in pairs, so unless you have four modules, you can't rotate them to figure out which one is faulty - you'll need a shop or another computer to run memtest86 on the modules.
