Default Need laptop recommendations

I currently have an Inspiron 2200.

I've been VERY pleased with it.

My uses: word processing, spreadsheet, online poker, lost of
email/internet/surfing type stuff.

I have found the 2200 to be sturdy enough.

I want to get another notebook. It will be used in a similar manner. Cost is
an issue. I'd like to keep it under $700.

Any suggestions?

(I can check out the Dell site for the configuration I want, but the 2200 no
longer exists on that site, so what is comparable)

Mel

I was pricing something like a B310. Is this a good machine.

I assume the E1505 is significantly better??

In my opinion, yes. As I understand it, the "B" series machines are
price-oriented/entry level.

The E1505/6400 Inspirons are nice. Very nice.

So you pay $80 more on the front end, but you should reap far more enjoyment
long term.

(And that doesn't consider I'd want to go 2 years onsite with warranty on
any choice you make, but....you can extend it a year if you call before the
1-year initial warranty expires...)
