In fairness to me I had tried to order with Dell previously, but they
couldn't even manage an e-mail confirming my order within a week,
nevermind anything else.

Odd. Last time I ordered something from Dell I got a phone call the day
after verifying address/delivery and giving me a date for delivery, which
turned out to be spot on.
(Although that was a PDA, not a PC.)

Still, at least they didn't actually take my money and run!

Judging by the company's figures, they don't need to:-)

I apologise if this is slightly OT for uk.comp.homebuilt, but
you guys were very helpful last time I asked a question and
uk.comp.vendors, whilst the most relevant group seems to receive
hardly any traffic.

Basically, I decided to buy a pre-built base unit from RedJag
Computers (www.redjag.co.uk) and went through the usual process
of customising the spec and settled on one I liked. On the
evening of the 18th of July I placed the order and I believe
the credit card I used was charged the next day.

Aint hopeful there website is down

Still down today 16th August.

Just as well you used a CC
