Default CPU Frequency???

In my BIOS I have a setting called "CPU Frequency" which can be set from
200Mhz-300Mhz. What does that do?

PC: Acer Aspire T160
Processor: AMD Athlon64 3500+ (2.2 GHz)
Mainboard: Acer FC51GM
BIOS: Phoenix LTD, R02-B1
Chipset: AMD
FSB: 2x1005MHz (2010MHz Data Rate Speed)
Memory Bus Speed: 2x200MHz (400MHz Data Rate Speed)

If you need more info message me. I really would like to know what this
does, and can't seem to find any info on it, even through Google.

TIA,
nascartrekkie3

It is one of the settings that controls the clock speed of the CPU. For
example, my 2.0GHz amd 3800+ runs at 200MHz times a multiplier of 10.
By changing my CPU frequency (sometimes called Front Side Bus or FSB) to
240, my CPU now runs at 240*10=2.4GHz. There are numerous other
settings that must be changed for a good overclock, so read up first.
