CPU temps dropping
Just thought l'd get some different opinions. l've just put together a
NF7-S Bios 18, Barton 2500+ running 200x10 with 1.75v, stock HSF, 2x256 Corsair XMS 3200 twinx DDR 2.8v, chipset 1.6v, ASIII on HSF, mem timing 8,3,3,2, two Vantec stealth fans, front and back and a side 80mm blowing out. (l will be getting another stealth for the front) normal temps are 48/32, cpu/system. then for no reason it starts to drop to 38/28 over a few minutes and then slowly come back up again to normal. this is all done in idle. I have yet to stress it to see how high it gets but this has me confused. The rear stealth fan is hooked up to a header and is at a constant 2100rpm (28CFM) The front fan is not so l don't know what speed it works at. The only thing l can think of is that the fans a temp sensitive and increase as temps go up, therefore sucking more cool air in as it needs it and then reducing the overall temp. Any suggestions? If you are running windows (XP..maybe others) and have the cpu halt
function enabled in the bios, this is normal....Pentium 4's do this also. It's a design feature. fb "Doug" wrote in message ...
