Quick format for DVD-RAM

I recently installed a LG multi format DVD drive (a GSA-4120 retail). I
bought some Imation 4.7 GB single sided discs. When I format them one
of the options is quick format.

Is it a good idea to quick format these disks or should it be avoided?
About how much time does quick format save? Thank you in advance for
all replies.

hard disk - i.e. there should be little point in wasting time doing a
