Default External Hard Drives

You can buy an enclosure that will connect to either USB2 or Firewire.
I use mine on firewire (laptop) as it seems quicker to me as well as
not tying up a USB port that I use for other devices

HI...

I'm looking at external hard drives, and came across a question I haven't
seen answered anywhere. My question is between USB2 and Firewire. Is there
any particular reason to go with one over the other? I know USB2 has
slightly bigger bandwidth, but is that the only thing to consider?

Thanks for any advice...

Chris
