Default Question on P5K audio connectors.

I am installing a P5K motherboard in an Antec Sonata II case. I have
to use the 7 audio wires as the board won't take the 10 pin audio
connector. The motherboard manual doesn't tell me the individual pin
configuration. Does anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks for any help.

Gary,
The manual for the P5K on ASUS website, shows the pin-outs for the Front
Panel Audio (AAFP) on page 2-35, for both the AC '97 and the HD Audio
configurations. You might try downloading the most current manual if
your's doesn't show it. That should help you sort things out.

Thanks Rob. I must have overlooked it when I was there. Much
appreciated.

From a previous poster, this is the SONATA II set of wires. With the P5K
motherboard, there is no place for RET-L and RET-R and they will remain
disconnected. You'll be connecting the bottom five wires and using
the legacy AC'97 header pinout shown in the P5K manual. Since no computer
case uses HDAUDIO pinout pattern to date, this is perfectly normal. In
the BIOS, set "Front Panel Type" to [AC'97].

RET-L
RET-R
FPOUT-L == LineOut_L
FPOUT-R == LineOut_R
AUD-GND == AGND
MIC == Mic2
MIC-BIAS == MicPwr

The position of the five pins in question, is in the downloadable manual.
There are several pins labeled "NC" and they are "No Connect" pins. The
reason they are "No Connect", is they have a sensing function that is
only used if the "Front Panel Type" is set to [HDAudio].
