Default Nikon Scan 3.1.2 Problem: Thumbnails Tab Disappears (0/1)

Hi,

I was using Nikon Scan 3.1.2 to scan negative films. The software was
working fine until I clicked on the Thumbnails Tab to try to advance
to the next film in the film strip (please see attachment prob0.jpg to
see the Thumbnails Tab I am referring). Normally, Nikon Scan will
extend the Thumbnails Tab, show me the thumbnails of all the pictures
in the strip and allow me to select the next picture that I want to
preview. But in this particular instance, Nikon Scan did not show me
the thumbnails, but showed me just an arrow (see attachment prob1.jpg
to see the problem). I was not able to recover the Thumbnails Tab in
Nikon Scan since then. Just want to let you know that I was doing the
right things: a strip of negative films had been loaded. I was able to
see the thumbnails before this problem occured. In fact, I
successfully previewed and scanned 2 pictures and I was about to
advance to the 3rd picture in the film strip.

I restarted Nikon Scan but the problem did not go away.

This is the 2nd time this problem happened in my PC. I re-installed
Nikon Scan 3.1.2 the first time it happened to solve the problem. I
don't want to re-install the software again because this is not the
solution.

Please help.
Thanks.
Jon

Hi, I gave up on Nikon scan the first week I tried it. I recommend VueScan -
it's about $40/50 and well worth the download

Please help.

My approach (after being burned a few times) is if a software product says
"Nikon" on it, to just trash it without a second thought.
