Disable SATA Controller/Drives on Rampage Formula
Hi,
I sometimes need to disable the internal drives on my machine. Reason: I also have an Adaptec eSATA Controller installed, which I use to install "Test systems" (eg. Windows 7, ...) to external drives and I don't want those systems to see my internal drives. Just disabling the drives in the BIOS does not help, during installation the drives are found and the installation wants to install a dual boot on the main drive. At the moment I disconnect the drives manualy by removng SATA cables and after finishing my installation I plug them in again. Any idea how that could be done? Thanks in advance for your help Best regards Thomas |

You have to use an IDE DVD drive, though. Thanks in advance for your help Best regards Thomas |

There should be a Hard Disk Drives setting under the Bios Setup Boot menu. Moving the drive connected to the Adaptec controller to the top of the list makes it the bootable drive, and Windows setup should put the Windows system partition on this drive.
