Ancient Compaq Presario CDS 774
I'm the lucky (?) owner of one of these units. AFAIK, it didn't come with a
5.25 floppy installed. But I need to install one to read some 1.2 mb floppies I have. I've got a floppy, but I need a mounting kit. Does anyone know where I might try to find a kit? An antique Compaq club or antique user group, different newsgroup, whatever. I don't want to leave the floppy unit floating in the case unless absolutely necessary. Thanks. Ken |

For how long do you intend to use the drive? Just prop it up somewhere on
some plastic if you only need it for a short while. Copy every 1.2MB disk you have and then put the drive back in the cupboard ;-). Paul DS |

I've already done that, I'd just like to make the drive a permanent
installation. That way it goes with a couple other old but functioning computers I have. Ken "Paul D.Smith" wrote in message . net... For how long do you intend to use the drive?
