How do I disable onboard video for a Presario 5184?

My system has no AGP slot. It's an older pre AGP system. Just 3 PCI slots.

I don't know about your specific model, but in the 5420US here it was
automatic. Just plug the video card into the AGP slot and power up. The
BIOS detects it, disables onboard video, and changes the bios setings
appropriately.

Perhaps yours is the same.
