New system help
I'm in the process of building a new computer system, and there are a few
things I don't know about for sure (this could get interesting). I plan to boot to a 2 SATA RAID 0 drive and have an additional larger HD for mass storage (one of the reasons I'm building a new system is digital movie editing). I would like to have a DVD burner (planning on a Lite-On 411/451) and another CD reader for CD copying. Question 1: Can I hook these 3 IDE drives up to my 2 channels in such a way as to not make the computer look at the HD as the boot drive, and still get decent speed on CD copies? (Master/Slave relationships) Question 2: I am looking for suggestions on the CD reader. I assume I'll get a Lite-On as I've had such good experience with my current Lite-On CD burner. It seems that reader only options are a thing of the past. Is there any problem having 2 burners in the same system? Thanks in advance for your assistance. I've lurked in this group for a number of years and learned quite a lot. TCR Remove YOUR HAT to reply by email |
