just installed a new cdrw and the strangest thing
first some info.
2 HDs on the same channel 1 new CDRW on the other channel. My brand new 52x drive can only write at 16x. The reason is that it seems to only be able to read from the hard drive at that speed, or so says Nero. Using it to check read speed in the preferences confirms this. The older drive seems to be reading at 10x the newer one. Also, the older one is using UDMA (as is the CDRW) and the newer HD just DMA (its a UDMA drive). The newer drive is used mostly for storage and is the slave device. Since windows only allows DMA or PIO in the device manager Im curious if maybe there is a setting that is wrong, or maybe something else thats right in front of my nose. Ideas? Thanks a bunch! |
