Default Bundled nero problem

I have just bought another recorder drive and want to keep my old one.

Both come with different versions of Nero 5.5 (old = 5.5.8.0 and new is
5.5.10.0)

My problem is when I went to install the '10' version it told me to unistall
the old and install the new, so thats what I've done. Now only the new drive
is a valid recorder in the 'choose recorder box'

Is there a way to get these working as I have the software for both versions
that i got bundled with my drives

Many thanks for help/assistance

Stu

you have 2 different bundled versions of Nero. they will not install and run
together on the same system.
Your best option is to get a retail version, then you will never have to
worry about whether a new drive will be supported.
Contact Ahead about getting a retail license for your version.

Near as I can tell, all flavors of nero are the same code.
I had the same problem and solved it by loading the newest version
and using the registration code from an old OEM version. Turned the
new Express version to the full version with support for both drives.

If you don't need to use 'em both at once, you might be able to just
enter the reg code for the drive you want to use. Never tried that.
If you have only bundled versions, you may have to reinstall and look
into the registry to get the code. YMMV.

The OEM version will only recognise the drive that you purchased it with
but you can go to the Nero website & get a serial number that will
unlock your software. You'll need your present serial number which is in
a registry key H_KEY_CURRENT_USER\software\ahead\nero-burning rom\info
It'll be a 24 digit number that you need to exchange for a new
number that will unlock your software to work with all of your drives!
Alternatively, upgrading to the retail version will also unlock the
software!

Could you advise where on the site this could be found. I poked around
for a bit with no success.
