Almost free. I've paid $US 10 to $US 15 for a 9-CD set of Red Hat Linux to
sellers on eBay.

It is as easy to set up, possibly easier than Windows, for typical desktop use.

From personal experience: never I have I spent so much time trying to learn
to use anything only to come away completely and utterly frustrated than I
did with Linux. All the major distros; three different computers.

Use only if you have infinite patience. Good OS for servers, I would
imagine.

In many ways, you're right. But satisfaction with Linux all depends on the
amount of experience one has. Easy to use for veterans of long-ago computer
wars, though.

I really like Mandrake Linux for beginners, and Vector Linux for older
hardware. You need to be a bit *nix savy for Vectot, though.
