On Screen Display question
The display is on my computer monitor using the ATI TV program version 8.1.
I think the data came from The Guide Plus program also included with my All-In-Wonder package. The 'Grid display' contains the data that is also displayed in the upper left corner. It contains the data for about a week and appears to be correct. I have tried evening usage when connected on-line and off-line (I use a dial up service) but doesn't make any difference (program title is UNKNOWN, even though it is correct in the grid) (I think it refreshes itself every 7 days, I haven't had it long enough to confirm that it will do it automatically.) Thanks for response, Michael "patrickp" - take five to email me wrote in message ... "Michael Walraven" wrote in message ... ATI All In Wonder 9000 in the display in the upper left on a channel change: channel number channel station ID current program title will that is what shows during the daytime, at night 'current program title' is UNKNOWN. Any suggestions as to what I need to do to correct welcome. Michael If it works or fails to work at specific times, I would suspect a problem with wherever that information comes from. Is it from a TV transmission or from online information? Either way, it's possible your area gets swamped at times of high usage (in the evenings). I would suspect the problem would be with whoever provides that information, although it may have to do with how you collect it. But since you haven't told us any more than you have, it's impossible to make a closer guess than that. You don't even say if that display comes from your TV (?) service provider (?) or is part of whatever software (?) you're using. patrickp |

... Follow up: I paid a bit closer attention to when it stops working, at a bit after 11:00 PM it was working (program titles showing). At 11:38 PM all the titles were 'UNKNOWN". Not sure when they begin working again. Michael "Michael Walraven" wrote in message ... The display is on my computer monitor using the ATI TV program version 8.1. It might be a good idea for you to dl the .pdf manual for the version of MMC you're using or look in the manual on your disc. I think that should give you some information on Guide Plus. You may even be able to find a manual specifically for it on the ATi site. A couple of things that occur to me, though: since Guide Star, AFAIK, derives its information from the TV transmission, does this happen on every channel at the same time? And do you use an aerial connection, satellite or cable TV? patrickp |

All the channels were up at 11:00, all were down at 11:38, don't know that they went down at exact same time however. "patrickp" - take five to email me wrote in message ... Also, if you check the MMC 8.5 release notes on the MMC 8.5 page, there's a mention of problems with Guide Star and a solution, also a URL for the Guide Plus FAQ. RTFM! ;-) patrickp |

I thought I had upgraded the ATI software from their site but apparently I
only did the drivers. Am downloading the MMC 8.5 now and will see if that has any effect. (Don't see how I missed the 8.5, its pretty plain ) Thanks for the nudge, Michael "patrickp" - take five to email me wrote in message ... "Michael Walraven" wrote in message ...
