Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- http://tinyurl.com/gqnae (No Mikey S-lickers have been able to prove ANY of the above ) (is a LIBEL -- despite Mikey claimed to have PROOF of libels!) Bit-by-bit comparison -- by "raw" read -- is meaningful only with data disc. But there is no free utility that does "raw" read comparison. |

Crypted DVD may provide some problems [AFAIK, there is no way to make a crypted copy of crypted DVD, only a decrypted copy]. Otherwise, just dupm the disks to file(s), and compare the dumps. E.g., readcd dev=b,t,l -clone f=OutputFileName (with suitable b,t,l; see `cdrecord -scanbus') would easily do this. To handle intentionally readable sectors, add -nocorr switch. Hope this helps, Ilya |

Mike Richter is a LIAR (dvd multisession)(ezcd/tao/dao)

Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- Mike Richter weaseled: As often happens, my news server supplies only the reply, not the original post. Guess that's why you did not respond to this: ----------------------------------------- From: DaveJohnson12 Date: 7/19/08 Subject: Nero 6 Multisession DVD question I'm trying to burn a Multisession DVD-R (data disc). On the Compilation Properties screen - Multisession Tab I clicked on the Start Multisession disc button. On the Burn tab, the Write Method is grayed out and it says Disc-at-once. Shouldn't this be set to Track at Once for a Multisession disc or is that only for CDRs? ----------------------------------------- If you had seen it, you might have responded with a variation of this: ================================================== ===== Mike Richter is a LIAR (dvd multisession)(ezcd/tao/dao) ================================================== ===== To weasel out an Easy CD&DVD Cremator bug: ====================== From: Mike Richter (cRoxio ****) Date: 8/11/03 System Setup - WindowsXP - Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 I add 4GB+ data to a layout and the ONLY option I have for burning is Track At Once. I have dealt with none that big ... === No See DAO so have no suggestion to offer. ====================== But then to weasel out another supposed Easy CD&DVD Cremator bug: ====================== From: Mike Richter (cRoxio ****) Date: 6/30/04 I am trying to add data for backup purpose to DVD disc 4.7GB. Any session added after session 1 is not viewable or visible in explorer or shell. My software is Easy Cd Creator 5 basic. My experience with DVD-ROM is limited (and I've not used ECDC for the job), but I have never seen an option to add sessions to the format. === No DVD Multisession The ONLY supported DVD-ROM format I have seen is DAO. === Only See DAO ====================== ------------------------------- Wow! I don't know if this suits the OP's needs, but md5sum and sha1sum will compute hashes for the disk as a whole. (If the disk has been burned from an ISO, the hashes will match those of the ISO.) With the drive unmounted, just $ md5sum /dev/cdrom $ sha1sum /dev/cdrom |
