What kind of DVD burner?
Hi all,
What's the "best" DVD burner to get nowadays? Back in the day Liteon was a pretty good one. Now I'm looking to get a new one. Is Liteon still OK or has something else taken over? -- /Tazz |

I've owned several burners over the past dozen years or so, including a couple of Plextors. The Plextors were the only ones I had to replace because they died. The rest were given graceful retirements and will still put in a day's work when asked to. |

To reply by email, lose the Ks... I just upgraded my main system. I have a hdd and DVD burner on the IDE port. The rest of the ports are SATA (my first motherboard with SATA ports). The burner worked great on the old system but it sometimes don't recognize discs when I put them in on the new machine. I have to open then close the drive, sometimes multiple times for the disc to spin up and get recognized. I was thinking of getting a SATA DVD burner, but which one... -- /Tazz |
